Currently, the factory produces a nutritious porridge from locally grown and sourced ingredients that are milled and blended with micronutrient pre-mix that makes it a quality and tasty fortified porridge. Through careful needs analysis, BFF offers a range of products:
Kibondo (500 grams) – For early life nutrition
It has been scientifically proven that the 1,000-day window has a profound impact on a child’s ability to grow, learn, and thrive. Everything from the child’s overall health to cognitive development is rooted in the first 1,000 days. A focus on the health during this critical stage of growth (from a child’s conception to second birthday) is key – BFF believes that attention to the nutritional needs of mothers and children during these 1,000 days is critical and exponentially effective.
Muryango (1 Kg) – For children above two, teens, and adults.
Children cannot learn when they are racked with hunger. Their brains cannot develop fully; they cannot concentrate or retain information. They can be in school but not benefiting from the education on offer because of basic nutritional deficiencies. Burundi Fortified Foods believes this is another key intervention point – reliable delivery of nutrition to children allowing them to develop and learn.
Muvyeyi (1Kg) – For pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.

II. Partnerships
Wider Reach
We exist to offer fortified foods for improved nutrition on a large scale. In order to offer our products to more people, we intend to partner with various government and non-governmental organizations as a wider-reach strategy.
StrongStart Bouillie
Strong Start is a delicious non-instant Bouillie made with maize, soya, sorghum, wheat, and enriched with premix (vitamins & minerals).
Corn Soy Blend Plus
Corn Soy Blend (CSB) is a highly nutritious wholesome blended food. CSB contains 69.5% cornmeal; 21.8% soy flour; a premix of 3.0% minerals and vitamin antioxidant.
Fortified Maize Flour
Fortified Maize Flour is an efficient, simple and inexpensive strategy for supplying vitamins and minerals to the diets of large segments of the population. The maize is fortified with several micronutrients such as iron, folic acid and other B-complex vitamins, vitamin A and zinc – some used for restitution of nutritional contents and others used for the prevention of micronutrient deficiencies.
